The Olde Stockdale Property Group is a mutual benefit non-profit corporation. By design we are based only on voluntary contributions to help each other without authority to assess cost. Because we are designed to help each other, donations are not deductible.
We started this process as a group of families matching each other $5,000 to pay for a 16-hour a day, 7-day a week security patrol for 3 months to break the cycle of crime in our neighborhood. By becoming harder and more engaged targets, we hope to change habits and have criminals go elsewhere. Our cost for 16-hours of patrols a day is $15,240 a month and our cost for an 8-hour day month is $7,800.
We currently have over 100 families contributing either in seed money to help establish services or in a monthly contribution to keep them going long-term. Over 30 families have contributed seed money. Monthly commitments are over $10,000. Our board chose to look for $100 a month, so that we can establish the minimum patrol service in a shorter amount of time and discuss things beyond that as they become viable. We currently have 16 hours a day, seven days a week well funded and hope that presents value for that $100 a month.
160 families contributing monthly would pay for 16 hours of service each day and leave us seed money funds to look at infrastructure. This is a big task to get going on a broad scale and was part of our urgency to get seed money started now but it is our answer together.
