I’ll be happy to get the conversation started. Some basic crime prevention practices are the best way to make a neighborhood more safe. Rare and shocking events may still occur but their frequency can be decreased by a powerful and communicating neighborhood. Olde Stockdale needs to be better illuminated! Properly placed TASTEFUL LIGHTING would deter much of the nighttime prowling that continues to take place while enhancing the neighborhood. Costly? Yes Effective? Absolutely

Great idea Bryan! I always thought tasteful lighting could add not only to the safety of the neighborhood but to its ambiance as well!

Over the years I have witnessed several persons riding bikes and walking in and out of the gate on Hume Lane to Stockdale Highway. The persons committing crimes know this is a less used and watched ingress/egress point.

I would suggest closing this to better secure the neighborhood.

It is too narrow for first responders like fire department to use.

I think Bryan's comments are spot on as well.

Great points Michael Ming! Or at the very least replace the current gate with a lightweight automatic gate that the few residents who still use it could operate via remote control.
